Puerto Galera

Information About Puerto Galera

Puerto Galera, or simply ‘Puerto’ or ‘PG’ is situated on the North West coast in the province of Oriental Mindoro, about 130 miles south of Manila.

It is reached via a 2-3 hour road transfer from Manila followed by an hours ferry ride from Batangas.

The area was designated a Marine and Biosphere Reserve of UNESCO in 1973 and has some of the most diverse coral reefs in Asia.
Puerto Galera is listed by the Club of the Most Beautiful Bays of the World, and is the only bay in the Philippines to be listed there.

Transport is widely varied and available in Puerto Galera. Car and motor bike rental is popular or why not ‘go native’ and take the Jeepneys or motorbike tricycles! Be ready to barter for a good price however and try to secure a deal that won’t see you having other passengers on your roof!

Of course we recommend to get in the water! Other than diving there are many other water sports available in Puerto Galera including banana boat rides and parasailing.

For those who like to stay drier you can go hiking in the mountains or take some of the many mountain bike excursions on offer.

At our resort we offer spa and massage sessions for all who want to pamper and relax.

The more adventurous may want to spend the night in White Beach or Sabang to party the night away in one of the many bars and small clubs.
