Whilst we were in Puerto Galera, we took time out to “interview” Lars, Founder of Stairway Foundation, so that SFC followers will have a greater understanding of what The Stairway is about and why SFC will be funding programmes run by Stairway to help stop Filipino children being exploited or marginalised. First of a multi-part series.
Ever wondered where the Scuba for Change inspiration came from? Founder, Albert Li will share the journey that has been 10 years in the making.
Listen to Mike McGuinness’ speech at the recent SFC Launch event.
With over 120 guests in attendance, the SFC Launch Event was a major success.
The night was generously supported by Craig McDonald (Mail Guard and 100th Gallery), where SFC had free use of the beautiful 100th Gallery space. Schweppes donated the soft drinks for the evening and Kersbrook Hill Estate supplied wines at cost.
In attendance included: SFC Patron, Darren Park, long term supporters Rachel & Adrian Briggs and Candy Robertson from Australian Underwater Products, Ambassadors Lucas Handley and Chris Pither, donors, investors, colleagues, friends and families.
Not only did we raise the awareness of SFC, we also raised some funds for The Stairway Foundation in The Philippines to replace damaged solar panels and parts for their indigenous camp in Barclayan. The Board will duly report the funds raised once we have had the chance to reconcile all receipts and expenses.
Our volunteers did a magnificent job on the night, a massive thank you from the Board!
Stay tuned for the next event!
