Scuba for Change believes that scuba divers and tourists alike can all leave behind positive and lasting legacies for people living in developing nations. If you have travelled to a developing nation, you may have seen first hand children being exploited, locals unable to break away from a cycle of poverty, earning wages a fraction of what we see in the “First World”.
If you have thought how you can help, but assumed the problems are too big to solve on your own, then consider being a part of Scuba for Change.
Scuba for Change is a unique social enterprise scuba diving business where 100% of its net earnings will be retained or reinvested to the benefit of local communities across a portfolio of operations in developing nations.
Apart from our initiatives to fund programmes that help stop child exploitation, we will be looking to up skill locals to manage and operate all of Scuba for Change’s operations. We will fund training and qualifications needed to help local staff attain the required level of competence and experience. Quite often, the cost of attaining “instructor” level and beyond is more than the annual salary paid to local staff. This is our way to help provide GENUINE career progression opportunities for locals.
Collaborate with our not-for-profit partner, Stairway Foundation that funds programmes that stop child exploitation.
Providing business grants to locals to start their own businesses and pursue their dreams.
Profits set aside to fund future expansion and growth in developing countries in a self sustaining way.
All our local dive centre staff will share in the profits generated, creating a more equitable wage distribution.
This will create positive and lasting legacies and through reinvesting 100% of its profits in local people & their communities in developing nations in need of social change. We will work with local partners and experts to ensure funds reaches the end users in the most optimal way.
SFC will implement a unique business model where 100% of its net earnings will be retained or reinvested to the benefit of local communities across a portfolio of operations in developing nations.
Earnings generated will be retained or reinvested to support philanthropic initiatives, self-fund future growth, ensure viable cashflow and improve operational safety.

SDI was created in 1998 and grew out of the success of our sister company TDI, which specializes in the more advanced disciplines of dive training. Both students and instructors have embraced the no nonsense approach that the SDI training system offers. We have streamlined the course materials to let students study the essential academics with an emphasis on practical diving skills learned in both the pool and open water environments. SDI is the only scuba training and certification agency to require students to be taught with modern dive computers from the onset of training. Learn more at https://www.tdisdi.com/.
